PM Lays Foundation Stone In Planning Ministry Rebuilding Project  

Mogadishu, September 09, 2018—Somali Prime Minister, Hassan Ali Khaire, along with Planning, investment and Economic development  minister, Gamal Mohamed Hassan and Qatari ambassador to Somalia, laid the foundation stone in Planning Ministry’ Reconstruction and rehabilitation Project, that the government will rebuild the compound of the ministry.

The Qatar Development Fund (QDF) funds the project as part of agreement signed last year.

The prime minister thanked Qatari government for investing the rebuilding project and acknowledged that reconstruction of the ministry compound is part of cabinet program that will contribute to the achievement of Somalia’s goals and development plans.

“The rebuilding of this ministry is part of the process of the government’s wider endeavor to reconstruct and restore public premises. The government can build nothing without citizens’ support. All Somalis are to take part the country rebuilding”, the PM at the launching ceremony of the rebuilding project.

Gamal Mohamed Hassan, the planning minister, said, “Very pleased to witness the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the reconstruction of Planning, investment and Economic development complex. Thanks to H.E. Somali PM & the Ambassador of Qatar to Somalia for joining us on this historic occasion”.

On November 28, 2017, the Qatar Development Fund (QDF) signed an agreement of $200 million with the Somali Ministry of Planning to implement various development projects that include the rehabilitation of government buildings and the construction of two roads linking the capital with the northern and southern regions.
