Prime Minister Hamza Closes Heritage Institute Meeting in Dhusamareb
The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia H.E Hamza Abdi Barre has closed the Heritage Institute meeting held in Dhusamareb.
The Prime Minister said the meeting came at a time when the country is going through major changes in security, economy, development, and diplomacy. He highlighted the recent peaceful elections in the capital, where citizens voted confidently.
He noted that progress in security and diplomacy has helped protect Somalia’s sovereignty and praised international partners who supported the country’s unity and independence. He also spoke about the humanitarian situation, mentioning that drought has affected nearly 4.4 million people who need urgent aid.
H.E Hamza emphasized that Somalia will not accept anything that threatens its unity and sovereignty. He underlined that any attempt to divide the country will be strongly opposed by both the government and the people.
Furthermore, Prime Minister announced that oil exploration will begin in parts of Galmudug starting in May this year.
Finally, he called on Somali politicians to unite and engage in dialogue, noting that the discussion platform is open in Mogadishu.
