President Hassan Sheikh and Prime Minister Hamza Attend the Oil Drilling Vessel Çağrı Bey Arrival Ceremony, Emphasizing Investment and Transparent Resource Management
The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, accompanied by the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, attended a ceremony welcoming the oil drilling vessel Çağrı Bey, which arrived at Mogadishu Port.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud stated during the event that the country’s improved security has paved the way for international foreign investment, something clearly witnessed by the Somali people. He emphasized the importance of utilizing the nation’s natural resources in a transparent and responsible manner.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre noted that the achievements the country has made are the result of joint efforts between the government and the Somali people, adding that progress will continue. He highlighted that Somalia is on the path toward economic self-sufficiency and will gradually reduce dependence on foreign aid.
“Somalia is transitioning toward peace and prosperity, moving away from insecurity and economic hardship. We have a clear vision introduced by the President, known as the National Vision 2060, which reflects the ongoing and visible progress in Somalia’s state-building process,” said Prime Minister Hamza.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed that the Somali government is committed to safeguarding the interests of its people and will ensure that the country’s natural resources are managed in a fair and transparent manner.
