Prime Minister Hamza Officially Launches the 2026 National Secondary School Examinations

The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, today officially launched the 2026 National Secondary School Certificate Examinations and marked the conclusion of the Grade 8 National Examinations across the country.

Prime Minister Hamza stated that the DanQaran Government has made significant investments in education, dedicating substantial effort and resources to securing the future of Somali students and strengthening the country’s education system at all levels.

The Prime Minister noted that the DanQaran Government’s Centennial Vision and the National Transformation Plan (NTP) place education at the center of Somalia’s development agenda by improving the quality of education and modernizing the country’s educational systems, policies, and legal framework.

“Education is not only the path to success; it is the foundation of modernization and national capacity-building for Somalia. It is also a fundamental value deeply rooted in our faith, repeatedly emphasized in the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah, highlighting the importance of educating our children,” said Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre.

Prime Minister Hamza encouraged students sitting for this year’s National Secondary School Examinations to strive for excellence and achieve outstanding results. He also commended the Ministry of Education of the Federal Government of Somalia, Somali teachers, and school administrators for their dedication and continued efforts in advancing education across the country.
