Fourth National Consultative Council opens in Mogadishu
Muqadishu 26 December 2022 —The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre has attended the 4th National Consultative Council (NCC) conference, which opened at the Villa Somalia Presidential Palace in Mogadishu on Monday.
The NCC conference, which is chaired by the President of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, will focus on key issues of paramount national importance, including the federal judiciary system in relation to the delegation of powers among the federal and state governments, as well as the implementation of the outstanding issues related to the agreements set out in the communique of the 3rd NCC meeting in Mogadishu.
During the conference, the NCC leaders are also expected to discuss the current security situation in the country, with specific focus on the war against Kharijites, which aims to dislodge Al-Shabaab and other terrorist elements from the country.
Among the leaders participating the 4th National Consultative Council include: President H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, PM H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, DPM Salah Jama, Presidents Ahmed Mohamed Islam (Jubbaland), Ali Guudlaawe Hussein (Hirshabelle), Abdiaziz hassan Mohamed (South West), Said Abdullahi Deni (Puntland, Ahmed Abdi Kaariye (Galmudug) as well as the Banadir Governor who is also the Mayor of Mogadishu, Yusuf Hussein Jimale.
